Decades of Proficiency
After studying business administration in Cologne, Hans-Joachim Ziems becomes managing director of a consumer electronics retail chain. In 1984, he establishes his own company, expanding it into a corporate group counting a revenue of 3 billion German Marks and 7,000 employees. By 1995, Hans-Joachim Ziems divests his enterprise, redirecting his focus towards restructuring businesses facing crisis — the inception of Ziems & Partner.
From the onset, the aim of service is ensuring the operational continuity of larger companies facing imminent bankruptcy or insolvency. Uncompromising, precise cause-effect analysis of all success-hindering factors as well as the development and implementation of restructuring measures for powerful recovery has continuously evolved as the core of our work — evidenced by the successful handling of numerous mandates.
After assuming management in self-administration of the Kirch Media Group, the performance focus concentrates even more on averting insolvency scenarios, or, if inevitable, utilising insolvency law instruments for sustainable corporate restructuring.
Over time, Ziems & Partner has successfully undertaken management mandates in over 100 cases — ranging from medium-sized companies to major corporations — often serving as CRO or CFO. Selected clients include prominent market leaders such as Kirch Media, Merckle Ratiopharm, Pfleiderer, Nolte, Zimbo, Qimonda, Nici, Knaus Tabbert, ATU, NKD, PIN, IVG, Kathrein, and Leoni.
